Literature Text
SOME DAYS I AM A SHOUT,
A ROAR TO SHAKE THE HEAVENS,
A VOICE THAT IS HEARD.
Some days I am a whisper,
Soft and quiet,
There if you listen.
most days, i am an echo,
a shout that became a whisper,
a whisper that faded to nothing,
until the voice can no longer be remembered,
and no one is sure words were spoken at all.
a shout that became a whisper,
a whisper that faded to nothing,
until the voice can no longer be remembered,
and no one is sure words were spoken at all.

Every once in a while
the mountain winds
taste of salt,
so much that I could
cup my hands
like shells
and picture white waters
marvel at oak roots
for the first time,
hear the seagulls
cry for food
let’s build a castle
you and I,
made of stardust,
down the street
where the last wish
went to die,
let’s make boats
of these empty pages,
and flowers,
and hats
to call our crowns.
Let’s dance alone
you and I,
to the sharp
light melody
of a moon
and let’s stay,
oh let’s stay,
grow old
you and I,
in the place
where the roses lay.

caliginous-
the moon is out of sight
the stars are tucked
in the cosmos' blanket-
enigmas of
the night
and as I roam
through the universe,
I seek safety forevermore
a crinkle-eyed smile
pierces the darkness-
I'm so glad that it's yours.

I was an artist,

Night thoughts. Kind of depressing, but the mind goes where it goes. If you have a choice, though, be a whisper. You don't need to be a shout to make people listen. People should want to listen. So be a whisper, and find people who want to listen enough to find you. Ok, enough of that. Too much fluff.

I like how hour use of the different font sizes adds more dinamic to the poem
